STRANGE HUMAN SKULLS

Good day everyone!

I'm visiting my sister and family in the still very cool Ohio, which for those of you who don’t know, is located in the upper Midwest of the United States of America. I was born here but have been gone so long (about 42 years!) that even though I remember much of

this area, it is sometimes strange to me.

Speaking of strange, as you may know by now I love to look into the strange physical phenomena of our beloved planet. And then to see what the Bible has to say about it!

This week I ran across an interesting site and learned a lot about the strange human skulls that have elongated craniums. I know I touched on this in a previous blog, but I found out a few more facts I’d like to share with you…

ese skulls are "missing" the sagittal sutures. Brian Foerster has done in-depth research of these strange skulls, but coming from an evolutionist point of view. This has brought questions to him that he is trying to answer but are very clear when understanding from a creation science point of view. For example he makes a point that these conical skulls are different from 'normal' human skulls because of the 'missing' sagittal sutures and two small holes that appear on some of the back of the skulls. Answers in Genesis explains, "Foerster notes the skulls have two abnormal holes and 'only one parietal plate' instead of the usual two. The latter is known as sagittal synostosis—premature fusion of the sagittal suture line that runs across the top of the skull. This suture knits the parietal bones together, but premature fusion can obliterate the line. The little holes are a common human variation. Called parietal emissary foramina, they allow the passage of veins connecting the venous system inside the skull to that on the outside...

"The people buried at Wari Kayan (the largest find of skulls with elongated craniums) had conical, extremely elongated skulls. Their faces were normal, and the cranial deformation is typical of that produced by infant head binding, a common practice among ancient societies."1 Some infants even have heads as big as their torsos!

Foester has been allowed to take small samples of a variety of bones to use for DNA testing. The results were interesting though inconclusive. He states, "It had mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) with mutations unknown in any human, primate, or animal known so far. But a few fragments I was able to sequence from this sample indicate that if these mutations will hold we are dealing with a new human-like creature, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovans."2 

The methods of this study are questionable as there is "certainly ground for suspicion in the selection of a geneticist whose current claim to fame is an association with Lloyd Pye’s bizarre alien assertions...furthermore the samples Foerster gave Pye for DNA testing have been stored in uncertain conditions since the tombs in which they were housed were opened nearly a century ago...any such degraded region can trigger a 'no similarity found' message when the DNA is compared to the genetic database... and may simply be an artifact of DNA degradation."3

Other interesting data about these skulls is they are found worldwide. The biggest collection is located in Peru and is called the Paracas skulls after the region in Peru in which they were discovered. "Archaeologist Julio Tello’s 1928 discovery of 429 mummies in the subterranean necropolis at Wari Kayan on southern Peru’s Paracas Peninsula. Interred (placed) sitting in baskets, the desiccated bodies were swaddled in colorful fabrics, some richly embroidered. Pottery and textiles from the site resemble those of Peru’s Nasca people. Archaeologists think the Paracus Necropolis Culture probably dates to sometime in the first two centuries AD."4  Certainly evidence of 100% human activities. Other locations in central and south America that have elongated skulls include the Mayan and Inca ancient civilizations. They are also found in the Congo, Melanesia, Egypt, Malta, Austria, Germany France, Russia, and England and I’m sure there are other countries which I have missed.

Foester states another incredible "fact" about these people is they all (around the world) pretty much died out about 2000 years ago. Then, I ask, why was head binding still being practiced in the 1950s? 

Cranial deformation seems to occur mostly in royal families. For example, in Egypt, Nefretiti of the royal Ptolemy family and others of her family including her husband had elongated craniums.

Tut has an elongated cranium but not nearly as pronounced as many others (could this be due to a co-mingling of these people with non-head bound people? i.e. with commoners?). The Mibetu of the Congo was one of the last groups in modern history to practice cranial deformation through head binding and were still doing it in the 1950s when missionaries and the United Nations put an end to it sighting child cruelty. Interestingly enough, this tribe of people claims to have ancestry from Sudan and even more ancient ancestry from Egypt. The Melanesian people also claim to have ancestry from Egypt as well. There are even some depiction of Attila the Hun having a slightly elongated cranium.

Could it be that after the global flood, this strange practice of head binding came to denote royalty, spreading throughout the world after the tower of Babel along with more common people?

So what does the Bible say about all of this? The only thing that seems to make sense, at least to me, is found in Genesis 6:4-8, “There were giants in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” And Numbers 13:32,33, “And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eaten up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. And there we saw the giants (Nephilim

in Hebrew), the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and saw we were in their sight.” Only the Nephilim and their giant descendants like the Anakites and Philistines are mentioned as humans of different anatomical structure. I realize that they are referring to “men of great stature” and many if not most of the skulls that have the elongated craniums appear to be of normal size.

Could it be that these strange skulls formed by head binding are what is left over from the Nephilim? And could it also be that there are skeletons out there that are of large stature? That are not on display at

Also I find it odd that Foerster states that these strange-shaped skull people died out about 2000 years ago. When infact, head binding still existed in the 1950s!

I choose to believe what is written in scripture which is God breathed, the unaltered truth, our unaltered history. I’ll leave you with one more question; If Nephilim roamed the earth post Flood, wouldn’t there be some evidence of them?
