TALKING WITH THE DEAD?
PART II
Good morning all my fine friends out there! How is life with you all? I hope as blessed but maybe not as busy as mine—its hard working seven days a week! Sometimes I feel like the walking dead I’m so tired.
Speaking of which, last week we discussed if there was life after death and if we could actually speak to our deceased loved ones…and can they communicate back with us.
Well, as we discovered, scripture is very clear about this and the answer is yes, we most certainly have the ability to contact those beyond the grave. The big question then becomes; should we.
Scripture is also very clear about this so let’s see what God says (the following scripture is the NIV):
Leviticus 19:31
“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be
Leviticus 20:6
“I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.”
Leviticus 20:27
“A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets
2 Kings 23:24
Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.
1 Chronicles 10:13
Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance…
2 Chronicles 33:6
He sacrificed his children in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced divination and witchcraft, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord,
Isaiah 8:19
When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Isaiah 19:3
The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the
Jeremiah 27:8-10 If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand. So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’ They prophesy lies to you that will only serve to remove you far from your lands; I will banish you and you will perish.
As you can see, throughout Scripture, the Lord unequivocally condemns consultation with spirit mediums, fortune-tellers, astrologers, witches and all other occult sources of supposed knowledge and guidance.I think it’s safe to say we should have NOTHING to do with talking to the dead. Isaiah 8:19 tells it about as good as anything…“Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?”
As we have just discussed, it is evident there is another dimension in which the soul or spirit and angles reside in. Some people even believe they have seen beings from this dimension in the form of ghosts. Now can that be true? Is there such a thing as ghosts?

This week in the night sky; In the northern hemisphere: “Tuesday, June 2 the Full Moon (exact at 12:19 p.m. EDT). The Moon rises around sunset and shines in the dim feet of Ophiuchus after dark. It forms a triangle with Antares to its right and steady Saturn farther to its upper right.
Wednesday, June 3—Two shadows on Jupiter. From 9:58 to 11:13 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, Io and Ganymede are both casting their tiny, unequal black shadows onto Jupiter's face. And, Jupiter's Great Red Spot transits the planet's central meridian around 8:38 p.m. PDT. Good luck with all this; Jupiter is now almost as distant and small as it gets.”1
For the southern lats: “The Full Moon is Wednesday June 4. Venus is prominent in the twilight evening sky. Jupiter is the brightest object in the evening sky once Venus has set. Saturn is in the head of the Scorpion and is easily visible in the evening. The Moon is close to Saturn on June 1. Comet C/2015 G2 MASTER is visible in binoculars in the evening.”2
