DOPPELGANGER, TWIN, DOUBLE, LOOK-ALIKE, UNRELATED TWIN

DOPPELGANGER

Good day everyone!

How are you all this week? I am well and enjoying the subject this week…doppelgangers. What is a doppelgänger you may ask?

Here is the definition according to Merriam Webster: Someone who looks like someone else. Wikipedia goes on to say:  is a look-alike or double of a living person, sometimes portrayed as a paranormal phenomenon, and in some traditions as a harbinger of bad luck. In other traditions and
This one is actually a cross-nationality doppelgänger
stories, they recognize your 'double-goer' as an evil twin. The word doppelgänger is often used in a more general sense to describe any person who physically or behaviorally resembles another person. It is a German words that means “double walker”.

It is the last definition that we are going to concentrate on today.  Have you ever heard someone say “I saw your twin the other day! They looked just like you.”  Or on the other hand you are somewhere and you see someone you know, but it turns out that it isn’t them! Can a person be in two places at the same time? There are many intriguing accounts
throughout history of people who claim to have either encountered apparitions of themselves or have experienced the phenomenon of bilocation, being in two separate locations at the very same. Or could it be just their look-alike.

It is said that on average there are five to seven people around the world who look like you but are unrelated.  Here are pictures of a few and some of their stories:

Amanda Fisher and Meredith Pond: Amanda saw a picture of
Meredith but did not have a name.  So Amanda posted their pictures side by side in hope of whoever the doppelgänger was would contact her. After over one million views she finally  made contact with 22 year old Meredith.

Ciara Murphy and Cordelia Roberts:  Ciara moved to Germany to go to college. Once there, people kept asking if she had a sister attending too. One day she knew why when she ran into her doppelgänger, Cordelia Roberts. Cordelia also  recently moved to the area from the UK.

Irish TV host Niamh Geaney and Karen Branigan: Advertised through social media she was looking for her doppelganger. When Karen responded Niamh found her unrelated twin—and she only lived an hour away!

Neil Richardson and John: Neil had just moved to Essex but
people continually waved and greeted him as if they knew him even calling him John. One day Neil boarded a coach headed for an exhibition at the British Library and there, much to his surprise sat his doppelgänger, John . It turns out that both had attended the same college, were both teachers, had accounts at the same bank  and married their sweethearts in the 1960’s! The most astonishing thing was they now live only about 150 yards apart!

Neil Douglas: Neil boarded a flight to Ireland only to find there was a stranger in his assigned seat. When the man look up he was astonished to see someone who looked just like him! They had very similar short cropped red hair, bushy beard, eyes, nose, teeth and smile. Here is the selfie they took.

And look at this one:

How can this be? How can unrelated people look so much alike? Did one of the fathers have a shady past and actually father the other? That is possible in some cases but not so with the majority of doppelgängers. For evolutionists this is an intriguing and mystifying phenomena. Something that
can’t really be explained by science. Secular science that is. But according to the unaltered truth of the Bible, we are all related! First through Adam and Eve and then narrowed down again to eight people during the Noachian flood. It is not surprising then that there are similar genes found in people throughout the world. And even less surprising that they show up in similar human features. Once again the logic of the Bible is astounding!

And just to make things a little more interesting, here's the picture of me from the back of my novel:

Do I have a doppelgänger out there?

Until next time, God bless and take care!
