VARIETY FOUND IN ANCIENT DIET
OF GIANT PANDAS
G’day everyone!
How are all of you? No matter your circumstance, with Jesus you are always blessed! And right now I am being blessed with beautiful sunshine and the singing birds of spring. I can look out the window and see several different species building nests. What a blessing! All you people south of the equator are ushering in autumn and I pray yours is as beautiful as ours was last October.
January 31st of this year, this article released in Science Daily Ancient pandas weren’t exclusive bamboo eaters, bone evidence suggests. It states “The giant panda we know and love today live only in the understory of particular mountains in
southwestern China, where they subsist on bamboo alone. But according to new evidence, extinct and ancient panda species most likely had a more varied and complex diet.”

How do they know this? Scientist examined isotopes (containing radioactive elements) of pandas. Isotopes can vary depending on what an animal (or human) has taken in (eaten). The study included bone samples from both current pandas and fossils of extinct and ancient pandas. From that, the scientists have determined that a sole diet of bamboo has developed recently and not something the pandas would have had two million years ago (evolution timescale [but would be recent post flood in the biblical timescale]).

But is this an isolated case? Are pandas the only animals that have become more specialized in their diets in recent times. No. Another great example is the koalas of Australia. It is a well known fact that koalas used to eat leaves from multiple species of plants and trees. However now they have become so specialized in their diet that they can only digest no more than two or three species of eucalyptus leaves, which, as in the case of the giant pandas can lead to their extinction. And this does not fit with the theory of evolution because macro evolution is all about survival of the fittest, the strongest dominating. No room for compassion and specialization or they would have gone extinct when such adaptations first developed.
So why is this type of specialization considered evidence that
backs up the Bible? One of the biggest “faults” evolutionists like to point out about the animals on the ark is, “How could Noah have gathered and stored on the ark all the specialized foods for each species of animal from all around the world?” First, not each species of animals were on the ark, only two or seven of each kind. And second, this new evidence that pandas weren’t always so specialized in their diet goes to show that Noah didn’t have to travel around the world to gather the proper food for animals on the ark. Dietary specialization of wild animals all fits perfectly with the unaltered truth recorded scripture.
