WHERE DO OUR THOUGHTS, OUR
CONSCIOUSNESS COME FROM?
Good afternoon all you fine people out there! How has everyone been? Can you think of at least one fine thing that happen to, or with you this past week? For me it was time spent with my husband’s family, all dear people. Some of his relative we haven’t seen for six or more years! What a blessing!
Speaking of thinking, how do we humans have conscious thoughts? Where did they come from originally? Do animals have conscious thoughts?
There has been aYouTube video trending about titled, “The Origin of Consciousness—How unaware things become aware”. For an evolutionist, this is a profound mystery, and the video even says so, while making the whole video seem like fact. The reason for their confusion is that if evolution were true then consciousness and physical form would have to have evolved simultaneously. How many “transitional
forms” would evolution have to go through in order to get it right? So where are all these “transitional forms” in the fossil record?

In a previous post, I wrote, “Information is non-physical and does not arise out of material. Materials such as ink, paper, pens, pencils, discs, computer chips and DNA molecules are only carriers of information. “For example, the information in the Gettysburg Address exists outside of the paper and ink Lincoln used to write it. It could exist just as well on an audio CD, on the internet, or engraved in stone….but it did not begin in these materials; it began in Abraham Lincoln’s mind. An evolutionist might say, ‘But Lincoln’s mind is merely reactions of brain chemicals.’ In other words, Lincoln’s mind was the result of random, material (chemical) causes. But this would mean that the Gettysburg Address is the result of random, material causes too because it came from Lincoln’s mind. But as we have discussed, complex systems such as speeches (not to mention human brains) don’t arise out of randomness; they are the product of intention and planning (design). This means that Lincoln’s mind and ours are something more than just chemicals. Our minds have the
power of intentionality; our brains are the medium for communicating it.”1

That is all easy to understand if you start with the correct origin. “…Mankind’s beginnings is clearly taught in such passages as Genesis 1:26–29 and 2:15–25. God has not left us without a witness. He Himself, the Eyewitness to the events of His Creation, has transmitted to us a factual, easy-to-understand record in the Bible’s early chapters. Human beings were supernaturally and perfectly formed by God, complete with minds, consciousness and language. Adam and Eve were able to think, understand and reason, and were free moral agents. Their minds were not subject to the vagaries of our present fallen, sin-cursed world—there was no mental instability, confusion, or weakness because mutations and disease were as yet alien to that pristine world (Genesis 1:31). Our first parents had the free choice to obey or disobey their Maker (compare Genesis 2:16–17 with 3:1–7). Importantly, while it is true that Eve was deceived by Satan’s subtlety, Adam’s disobedience was willful (1 Timothy 2:14). They were both culpable for their actions, as can be seen in God’s judgment of Eve (Genesis 3:16) and of Adam (Genesis 3:17–19). The Bible’s testimony is plain: human beings were supernaturally created with self-awareness, moral consciousness and ‘God-
consciousness’ from the start.”2

We can always trust God; the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. God has created everything and maintains everything according to the natural laws he put in place. It is a wonderful, stunning thing to be able to put our trust in the One who knows everything!
