WORLD HISTORY BIBLE AND EGYPTIAN CHRONOLOGY, EGYPTIAN TIMELINE, ISRAELITE SLAVES, PYRAMIDS

WORLD HISTORY
BIBLE and EGYPTIAN CHRONOLOGY
PART XLIII

Well all my fine friends, we made it through another week! I hope all went well for you and if it didn’t, please find some comfort that I pray to our Lord Jesus for guidance, nourishment,     and protection for all my readers every week. My week went well, busy as usual and able to avoid the flu that is going around. My four kids are all doing well too and so are the grand-babies, and my sister, brother-in-law, nephews and grand-nephews! I am so blessed with all these generations of my family!

And speaking of generations, lets look at several that are mentioned in history, both through scripture and secular writings.

“Most histories begin with the unsubstantiated notion that primitive people slowly developed civilizations from rudimentary beginnings. Archaeology around the world has instead revealed advanced ancient technology without discernible periods of evolution. This sudden appearance of cultures possessing advanced technology approximately 4,000 years ago is consistent with the Bible’s account of the Flood, the proliferation of intelligent people on the plains of Shiner, and their subsequent scattering from the Tower of Babel.”1  Furthermore, every language group that spread out from Babel brought with them the technology and skills that each of the group’s members had.
THE GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA

According to both biblical and secular records, Egypt was founded by Mizraim (Noah’s grandson) around 2188 B.C., shortly after the dispersal. And as has been discovered through exploration and archeological digs, the Egyptians, the Sumerians, and the Mayans all retained the technology to build pyramids. For example; “Abram’s visit to Egypt may explain Egypt’s sudden advance. This would have taken place in the late 1900’s B.C. according to both the new Egyptian chronology written by archeologist David Downs, and scripture. “Abram grew up in the advanced but idolatrous culrute of Ur about three centuries after the Flood….Abram’s visit to Egypt may well have occurred during the fourth dynasty.”2 The fourth Egyptian dynasty was when the great pyramid of Giza was built for the pharaoh Khufu. It is even unto today the most precisely constructed and largest building in the world.
HEBREW SLAVES MAKING BRICKS

Then during the Middle Kingdom--the 12th and 13th dynasties--there is important evidence of Israeli presence in Egypt. These dynasties reigned between 1986 and 1491 B.C. It was during this time that Joseph was taken to Egypt and later brought his Hebrew family there around 1706. Then after 1635 B.C., the Israelites were enslaved.  “Sesostris III, the fifth king of the 12th dynasty, built cities in the delta including Bubastis, Qantir, and Ramses. The building material of choice in the Middle Kingdom was no longer stones but rather bricks composed of mud and straw. A large Semitic slave population lived in the villages of Kahun and Gurob during the latter half of the 12th dynasty. On one papyrus slave list, 48 of the 77 legible names are typical of a ‘Semitic group from the northwest,’ many listed beside the Egyptian name assigned by the owner. The presence of Semitic slaves in Egypt during this time is consistent with the biblical account of the oppression of the Israelites.”3
Moses INTERFERES WITH MASTER WHIPPING SLAVE

Moses was born around 1570 B.C. at which time the pharaoh Amenemhet III reigned. But “Traditional chronology has tried to fit Moses into the 18th or 19th dynasty where there is no evidence of Semitic slavery on a large scale, but Moses’ unusual adoption does fit into the late 12th dynasty. Amenemhet III, the dynasty’s sixth king, had two daughters but no sons. Josephus describes a childless daughter of pharaoh finding a child in the river and telling her father, ‘As I have received him [Moses] from the bounty of the river, in a wonderful manner, I thought proper to adopt him for my son and the heir of thy kingdom.’ Amenemhet III’s daughter Sobekneferu was childless and eventually ruled briefly as pharaoh herself, making Sobekneferu a likely candidate for Moses’ foster mother.”4 Chapter 2 of the book of Exodus gives us the same historical account.

When Down’s chronology for the Egyptian timeline, the Bible and ancient Egyptian documentation line up, it wonderful to be able to see history as it truly occurred. Next week we will look how Judges, King David, Solomon, Rehoboam, Ahab, and Elijah all fit in with the Down’s Egyptian chronology.

Until then may you all have a blessed week!

This week in the night skies: “Tuesday, January 14, Jupiter shines left of the nearly full Moon early this evening. Ganymede, the largest and brightest moon of Jupiter itself, slowly emerges out of eclipse from Jupiter's shadow around 10:21 p.m. EST. With a telescope, watch for this happening just off Jupiter's eastern limb.”5

For the southern hemisphere: The sun has been exhibiting multiple sunspots. AR 1944 is the one shaped like Australia with New Zealand off to the right. “The sunspots cause G2 and G1 class geomagnetic storms, which have the potential to produce aurora in Tasmania, Southern Victoria, Possibly Southern WA and South Island New Zealand. The Australian IPS has an anodyne prediction of "active".”6
