STRAWBERRY MOON
Hello all my friends out there!
So much is going on it’s hard to know what to give up to do something else! It is full blast berry picking season here and my family and I were privileged enough to be able to go a farm that allows for strawberry picking. What a fun family time! Thank You Jesus.
Speaking of strawberries, have you ever heard of the
Strawberry moon? I know you have heard of the blood moon from my earlier blogs, but a Strawberry moon? Check it out…
The Strawberry Moon is a North American nickname for the full moon in June. The Strawberry moon is not necessarily due to its color. Rather this berry-inspired name comes from the Algonquin tribes of Native Americans. June is the month in which these people would harvest strawberries. In the United States, the Strawberry Moon occurs on Thursday, June 28. The peak happens just before 1:00am on the east coast and just before 10:00pm if you’re on the West Coast. However, due to the brightness of the moon in the night sky, the best time to really get a good look is right when it’s rising. The moon appears larger when it is ow on the horizon because
that is when you can capture the view of objects in the foreground which makes the moon appear larger.
In other parts of the world, I am not so sure what the timing is to best view the beautiful Strawberry moon, but some of the other names the June moon has are; the Honey Moon, Hot Moon and Full Rose Moon. It is the most colorful of all the full moons except for blood moons.
As beautiful as our closest celestial object is, it doesn’t even compare to the magnificent character and creativity of our dear Heavenly Father and elder Brother Jesus! Look up tonight and know (as in experience) that He is God!
Until next time, God bless and take care!
